Soccer Zone To Zone Training Drill

Setup
- middle zone 4-6yds wide
- cones to mark off area
- 1 ball per player
- 5-10 min
Rules & Objectives
- players attempt to dribble from one zone to the other
- one tagger (coach/player) is positioned in the middle zone
- once a player crosses the middle zone he must dribble around the yellow cone before he can try to return
- if tagged, players must leave the grid and do a simple task before they can rejoin the game (10 x toe
- taps, knock ball between feet 10 x, 5 x juggles etc.)
- each successful crossing is awarded a point
Variations
- specify how players must dribble (left or right foot, inside or outside foot etc.)
- start activity without balls as a warm up
- vary number of taggers
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group if necessary
