Soccer Warm Up # 7 Training Drill

Setup

  • cones to mark off area
  • cone goals (2-3yds)
  • 1 ball per player
  • 5-15 min

Rules & Objectives

  • players dribble through all goals while accelerating and changing direction out of the goal
  • players count the number of goals that they dribble through in 30 sec.
  • players attempt to increase that number on future attempts
  • free 20 sec. stretch
  • all players dribble through and around all goals in a figure 8
  • free 20 sec. stretch
  • 1v1 on any goal with one player being the designated attacker for 2 minutes - (if the defender wins the ball he gives it right back)
  • free 20 sec. stretch

Variations

  • specify how players must dribble (inside or outside of foot, left or right foot only etc.)
  • adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group if necessary
