Soccer Warm Up # 17 Training Drill

Setup

  • 2-4 players max per station
  • good supply of cones
  • cone goals (2-3yds)
  • 1 ball per player
  • 5-10 min

Rules & Objectives

  • the first player in line of each group dribbles through the cone goal to his left and then returns to his group
  • next player repeats sequence
  • run activity for 3-5 rounds
  • first group back to its original position wins

Variations

  • specify how players must dribble (inside or outside of foot, sole, left or right foot only etc.)
  • players make a self pass through the cone goal
  • players perform a specific move before they dribble through the gate (Cruyff, Scissor etc.)
  • players dribble through the cone goal in a figure eight
  • adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
