Soccer Team Knock Out Training Drill

Setup

  • 2 groups
  • cones to mark off area
  • good supply of balls
  • 10-15 min

Rules & Objectives

  • all players from one team dribble inside the grid
  • players of the other group around the grid attempt to pass and hit the the player's balls on the inside
  • if a ball is hit, the player with that ball has to dribble around the grid one time before he can rejoin the game
  • switch roles after 3-5 minutes
  • group with most hits wins

Variations

  • vary number of balls for group on the outside
  • specify how players must dribble (inside or outside of foot, left or right foot only etc.)
  • specify how players must pass (left or right foot, inside or outside foot etc.)
  • adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
