Soccer Short Passing # 9 Training Drill

Setup

  • in pairs
  • grid (15yds x 15yds)
  • cones to mark off area
  • 1 ball per pair
  • 5-10 min

Rules & Objectives

  • player with the ball dribbles to open corner cone
  • once he gets to the cone he passes to his partner while moving(ball cannot come to a standstill)
  • the receiver now dribbles to the open corner cone and passes to his partner while moving
  • continue sequence
  • team to complete most passes in 90 seconds wins

Variations

  • three or four touch max for each player
  • adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
