Soccer Short Passing # 7 Training Drill

Setup
- in pairs
- cones to mark off area
- 1 ball per pair
- 5-10 min
Rules & Objectives
- each player stand in front of a blue cone and pass in between white cones to their partner on the
- opposite side
- two touch passing (1.receive 2. pass)
- practice for 90 seconds and then make it competitive
- pair to complete most passes within 90 seconds wins
Variations
- one-touch passing
- specify how players must pass/receive (left or right foot, inside or outside foot, etc.)
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
Coaching Points
- accuracy over power
- first touch
- make eye contact
- go faster gradually
