Soccer Cone Sprint Training Drill

Setup
- large grid (20 x 20yds) & small grid (7 x 7yds)
- good supply of cones
- 1 ball per player
- 5-10 min
Rules & Objectives
- players dribble inside the small grid
- on coach's command all players dribble around a cone from the large grid and then dribble back into the small grid
- last player to be back inside the small grid does a fun exercise
Variations
- specify how players must dribble (inside or outside of foot, sole, left or right foot only etc.)
- play in teams and see what team makes it back into the grid first
- on coach's command players swap balls before they leave the inner grid
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
