Soccer Cone Goals Training Drill

Setup
- 2 teams
- grid (25yds x 40yds)
- cones to mark off area
- cone goals (3-5yds)
- pinnies
- 15-25 min
Rules & Objectives
- each team defends and attacks one cone goal
- teams score by dribbling through a cone goal
- goals can be scored from both sides
- if the ball goes out of bounce it is dribbled it back in
Variations
- teams score by stopping the ball dead on the goal line
- teams can score on both goals
- teams score by dribbling through a cone goal and then passing it to a teammate
- vary position and/or number of cone goals
- minimum of 2-3 touches for all players
- add neutral player
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group if necessary
