Soccer Cone Goals 2v1 Training Drill

Setup
- 3 teams
- grid (20yds x 30yds)
- cones to mark off area
- cones goals (2-4yds)
- 1 ball per player (except for defenders)
- pinnies
- 10-20 min
Rules & Objectives
- 2 attacking teams dribble through cone goals
- defending team prevents attackers from scoring
- if a defender wins the ball he gives it right back to the attacker
- each goal is awarded a point
- switch roles after 3-4 minutes
- team with most points after 3 rounds wins
Variations
- each attacking team plays with only one ball
- 2 teams defend (defenders can only block attacker's path - they cannot try to win the ball!)
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group if necessary
