Soccer Cone Flippin’ Training Drill

Setup

  • 2 teams
  • cones to mark off area
  • 1 ball per player
  • pinnies (optional)
  • 10-15 min

Rules & Objectives

  • each team is assigned a cone color
  • on coach's command players dribble and flip over the cones from the other team with their hands while keeping control of the ball
  • players also try to flip over their own cones back to their original position
  • play 2-3 rounds 2 minutes each
  • team that has less cones upside down at the end wins

Variations

  • specify how players must dribble (left or right foot, inside or outside foot etc.)
  • adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
