Soccer 1v1 Practice Your Moves Training Drill

Setup

  • 6-8 players max
  • cones to mark off area
  • half the group with a ball
  • 5-10 min

Rules & Objectives

  • players dribble in a clockwise direction towards the defender
  • players beat the defender by performing a move of their choice
  • switch roles after 2-4 minutes
  • passive defenders

Variations

  • active defenders
  • defenders can move only from side to side
  • defender gets beaten with specific move (stepover, scissor etc.)
  • players must dribble in counterclockwise direction
  • adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group if necessary
