Rolling Target Game

This simple, low-intensity game is a great way to end or even start a session. By rolling the ball into a target zone, players relax while still working on focus, control, and touch. The lighthearted competition helps players finish practice on a fun note and encourages precision without physical strain.

Setup

  • Players line up along the doubles alley on one side of the court
  • Target zone marked in the opposite doubles alley
  • Each player has a tennis ball

Rules & Objectives

  • Players take turns rolling their ball by hand across the court
  • The goal is to make the ball stop inside the target zone in the opposite doubles alley
  • If a player’s ball stops in the target zone, they stay in the game
  • If a player misses the zone, they are eliminated
  • Continue until only one player remains as the winner

Repetition

  • Play multiple rounds so everyone has several chances to compete
  • Adjust the size of the target zone to make the game easier or harder
  • Allow players to use their rackets to roll the ball for variation
  • Play team vs. team, with combined scores for accuracy
