Racket-Pass Coordination Drill

This drill develops hand-eye coordination, body awareness, and focus through a combination of rallying and racket-handling movements. Players rally cooperatively from the service line, and after each shot must pass the racket around their body before preparing for the next stroke. The added movement challenges coordination while keeping the drill fun and engaging.

Setup

  • Two players rally cooperatively from the service line
  • Use standard balls and rackets

Rules & Objectives

  • Players rally back and forth, keeping the ball controlled inside the service boxes
  • After each shot, the player passes their racket around their body before preparing for the next stroke
  • Continue the rally while maintaining rhythm and timing
  • Variation 1: Instead of passing the racket around the body, players pass it through their legs after each shot
  • Variation 2: Move players back to the baseline while keeping the same rule
  • Advanced Variation: Require two racket passes (around body or through legs) before the next shot

Repetition

  • Rally for 2–3 minutes per set
  • Track longest rally length to keep players focused
  • Progress from service line rallies to baseline rallies

Coaching Points

  • Improves hand-eye coordination and concentration
