Quick Feet Bounce Rally

This warm-up drill builds lightness, rhythm, and quick footwork by combining rallying with on-the-toes bouncing between shots. Players rally from different court positions, emphasizing staying active and balanced on their feet. By requiring multiple toe-bounces before each stroke, players learn to stay engaged, improve timing, and maintain readiness throughout the rally.

Setup

  • Two players facing each other on opposite sides of the court
  • Start at the service line with standard rackets and balls
  • Optional: progress back to half-court and baseline

Rules & Objectives

  • Players rally cooperatively from the service line using groundstrokes
  • After hitting each shot, player must perform 6–8 quick toe-bounces before the next stroke
  • Maintain rally rhythm while staying light on feet
  • After several minutes, move back to half-court and continue the drill
  • Progress all the way back to the baseline, requiring 8–10 toe-bounces between strokes

Repetition

  • Run timed rounds (2–3 minutes per court position)
  • Increase number of toe-bounces as players move farther back
  • Add competitive element: longest rally without breaking bounce rhythm
  • For advanced players, require directional hitting (crosscourt or down-the-line only)

Coaching Points

  • Develops quick feet and agility through active bouncing
  • Reinforces staying on toes and balanced between shots
  • Improves timing, rhythm, and readiness
  • Builds stamina as players move progressively deeper on the court
