Soccer Passes Into Target Areas # 6 Training Drill
Setup
- 2 teams
- play 4v4, 5v5, 6v6 etc.
- grid (30yds x 40yds)
- each target area (5yds x 5yds)
- cones to mark off area
- pinnies
- 15-20 min
Rules & Objectives
- teams score by making a lofted pass to a teammate who controls the ball inside the target area
- players cannot be challenged inside target areas
Variations
- players can be challenged inside target area
- players must enter target area at the same as the ball to receive it
- each team can score in two designated areas plus a neutral zone
- limit number of touches
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
