Soccer Pass and Shoot Sequence # 19 Training Drill

Setup

  • 1 goalie
  • good supply of cones
  • 1 goal
  • good supply of balls
  • 10-15 min

Rules & Objectives

  • player 1 passes to player 2 who tries to finish on goal
  • once player 2 receives the pass player 3 starts from his cone to defend player 2 as shown

Variations

  • first pass must be lofted
  • specify how the receiver must control the pass (chest, head, feet etc.)

  • Attacking: quality of preparation touch
  • Attacking: aggressive and positive mentality
  • Attacking: placement versus power
  • Attacking: accurate passes
  • Defending: angle and speed of approach
