Soccer Pass and Shoot Sequence # 19 Training Drill

Setup
- 1 goalie
- good supply of cones
- 1 goal
- good supply of balls
- 10-15 min
Rules & Objectives
- player 1 passes to player 2 who tries to finish on goal
- once player 2 receives the pass player 3 starts from his cone to defend player 2 as shown
Variations
- first pass must be lofted
- specify how the receiver must control the pass (chest, head, feet etc.)
Coaching Points
- Attacking: quality of preparation touch
- Attacking: aggressive and positive mentality
- Attacking: placement versus power
- Attacking: accurate passes
- Defending: angle and speed of approach
- Defending: body shape, balance, and foot positioning
