Soccer Multitasking Training Drill

Setup
- 2 teams
- grid (25yds x 35yds)
- cones to mark off area
- 1 ball per player
- 5-15 min
Rules & Objectives
- players of one team dribble inside playing area
- players of the other team around the grid as shown
- players on the outside throw the ball to a dribbling player who receives and passes it back while keeping his own ball close
- players cannot go to the same outside player twice in a row
- players must accelerate into space for three touches after their pass back to the outside player
Variations
- vary distribution by outside player (high/low throw, high/low pass)
- inside players must call outside player's name for a pass
- inside players catch the ball and then throw it back to the outside player
- inside players head/volley/drop kick it back to outside player
- inside players don't have to dribble a ball
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group if necessary
