Multiple Feeds Sequence
This drill is designed to give players repeated opportunities to practice different shots in quick succession. By receiving three different feeds in one sequence, players work on footwork, movement, and transitioning between baseline, mid-court, and net play. It’s flexible for coaches to adapt based on group size and skill level, making it suitable for juniors and adults alike.
Setup
- Two groups of three players (one group on each side of the court)
- Coach positioned on the opposite side to feed balls
- Standard court with optional target cones for accuracy
Rules & Objectives
- Player 1 steps forward to begin the sequence
- The coach feeds three balls in succession:Feed 1: a deep baseline ball
- Feed 2: a short ball in the half-court area
- Feed 3: a volley feed near the net
- The player hits each ball in sequence, then returns to the back of the line
- The next player repeats the same sequence
- Continue until all players have completed multiple turns
Repetition
- Rotate players after each full sequence
- Vary the type and speed of feeds (high, low, fast, slow)
- Add targets (cones) in different zones to encourage shot placement
- Challenge players to move aggressively forward with each feed
