Fireworks Catch Game
This exciting game is perfect for kids 10 and under, combining fun, speed, and coordination. Players react quickly when the coach tosses multiple balls into the air, racing to catch as many as possible before they stop bouncing. It creates a lively, competitive atmosphere while developing hand-eye coordination and agility.
Setup
- Coach with a large number of foam or low-pressure balls
- Open court space behind the coach
- Optional: cones or empty ball cans for players to catch balls
Rules & Objectives
- Players line up behind the coach, facing away from them
- Coach yells “Fireworks!” and throws all the balls high into the air behind him
- Players sprint to catch as many balls as possible before they hit the ground or stop bouncing
- Balls may be caught with hands, cones, or empty ball cans
- Count how many each player collects; the one with the most wins the round
Repetition
- Repeat several rounds, changing the number of balls thrown each time
- Add a time challenge: players have only 5 seconds to collect balls
- Have players catch with their non-dominant hand for extra difficulty
- Award team points if playing in groups
