Cone Battle Game
Cone Battle is a fun and competitive game for kids that combines rally practice with accuracy challenges. Players aim to knock down their opponent’s cones while defending their own. It builds focus, control, and competitive spirit, making it both a great training activity and a game kids enjoy repeating.
Setup
- Two players or two teams facing each other across the net
- Each side starts with 3–4 shallow cones, placed upside down on their half of the court
- Cones arranged in a cluster or spread out (coach decides based on skill level)
- Players positioned at the service line
Rules & Objectives
- Players rally the ball back and forth from the service line
- The goal is to hit one of the opponent’s cones
- If a cone is hit, the player takes it and adds it to their own side
- Play continues until:One side loses all their cones, orA set time limit (e.g., 2 minutes) is reached, with the winner being the player/team with the most cones
Repetition
- Adjust distance between players: closer for beginners, farther for advanced
- Change cone placement:Spread out for harder targeting
- Grouped closer together for easier play
- Increase the number of cones to extend the game
- Play singles (1 vs. 1) or doubles (2 vs. 2)
Coaching Points
- Develops accuracy and controlled shot placement
- Reinforces consistency while under pressure
- Teaches kids to aim for targets, not just rally aimlessly
