Team Rally Game

Tennis Volleyball is a fun, team-based game that develops ball control, communication, and teamwork while reinforcing hand-eye coordination. Players must keep rallies alive by involving multiple teammates before sending the ball over the net. The cooperative structure makes it enjoyable for groups of all ages and skill levels, while also encouraging strategic placement and soft touch.

Setup

  • Two teams, one on each side of the court
  • 3+ players per team (numbers can vary based on group size)
  • Use foam balls, red/orange balls, or standard tennis balls depending on age/level
  • Full court or half court space

Rules & Objectives

  • Teams begin a cooperative rally, keeping the ball in play
  • Before the ball is returned over the net, at least three team members must touch it
  • The ball is allowed to bounce between hits to maintain flow
  • Count the number of successful rallies over the net, and challenge teams to beat their previous record
  • Rotate teams or switch sides after each round to keep engagement high

Repetition

  • Remove the bounce between hits for more advanced coordination
  • Restrict play to specific strokes (e.g., forehands only, backhands only)
  • Vary the number of required touches per team before sending the ball over the net
  • Play competitively by awarding points for each successful rally returned
