Ball Can Catch Game
This fun coordination drill is designed for kids to improve hand-eye control while staying active. By tossing balls and catching them in an empty ball can, players build skills that translate directly into serving motions, timing, and focus. The competitive element of filling the can keeps kids engaged and motivated.
Setup
- Each player with an empty ball can
- Several low-pressure or foam balls
- Open court space for safe movement
Rules & Objectives
- Each player tosses a ball into the air with their hand
- Let the ball bounce once, then try to catch it inside the ball can using the opposite hand
- Continue tossing, bouncing, and catching until the can is filled
- The first player to fill their can wins the game
Repetition
- Vary bounce rules:Catch after no bounce (direct from the air)
- Catch after two bounces for easier play
- Switch tossing and catching hands to build coordination on both sides
- Play timed rounds to see how many successful catches each child can make in 1–2 minutes
