Soccer The Landon Race Training Drill

Setup

  • cones to mark off area
  • 1 ball per player
  • 5-10 min

Rules & Objectives

  • players dribble in playing area
  • the player whose name is called out by the coach dribbles around a cone of his choice
  • the rest of the players follow him and dribble around the same cone as quickly as possible
  • the last player to dribble around that cone does 20 squat jumps (push ups, jumping jacks etc.)

Variations

  • specify how players must dribble (inside or outside of foot, left or right foot only etc.)
  • leading player must dribble around 2 (3) cones
  • each player is assigned a number which is called out by the coach- adjust spacing depending on the
  • age and ability of the group
