Soccer Team Tag # 1 Training Drill
Setup
- 2 teams (each player partners up with a player from the other team)
- cones to mark off area
- 1 ball per pair
- pinnies (optional)
- 10-15 min
Rules & Objectives
- all players dribble inside the inner square
- when coach shouts out the color or name of one team all players from that team attempt to dribble
- outside the outer grid before getting tagged by their partner from the other team
- each successful escape is awarded a point
- team with most points wins
Variations
- all players must swap balls before they leave the inner grid
- all players must perform a specific move they can attempt to dribble outside the outer grid / tag the other player
- each player from the team that was called up must dribble to a cone from the outer grid or through
- a cone goal which is outside the outer grid

- head up
- look for space
- see ball with bottom of eyes
- explosiveness
- good first touch into space
