Soccer Cross Country Training Drill

Setup
- 2 groups
- cones to mark off area
- 1 ball per player
- 5-10 min
Rules & Objectives
- on the coach's command players dribble to the opposite end line and back to their starting position
- first group back to its original position is awarded a point
- first group with 5 points wins
Variations
- specify how players must dribble (inside or outside of foot, left or right foot only etc.)
- same game as before with groups on all four sides of the grid (make the grid a bit larger)
- players perform a specific move once they arrive at the opposite end line and then dribble back to their starting position
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
