Soccer Knock Out # 2 Training Drill

Setup
- good supply of cones
- 1 ball per player
- 5-15 min
Rules & Objectives
- on coach's command two players knock their own balls out of the grid and attempt to knock out everybody
- else's ball for 30 seconds
- switch pair of taggers each round
- the pair with the most points wins
Variations
- specify how players must dribble (left or right foot, inside or outside foot etc.)
- start activity without balls as a warm up
- only followers dribble a ball
Coaching Points
- vary number of taggers
- taggers must carry their balls
- mark off a save zone for dribblers to be in for 5 seconds max
- adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
