Soccer Handball Tag # 2 Training Drill

Setup

  • grid (15yds x 20yds)
  • cones to mark off area
  • 5-10 min

Rules & Objectives

  • players move inside the area without a ball
  • two taggers carry a ball with their hands
  • tagger holding the ball can tag the closest player
  • tagger with the ball cannot take more than 2 steps
  • if tagged, players become one of the taggers
  • last two players standing become the taggers for the next round

Variations

  • taggers pass by volleying the ball
  • adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
