Soccer Scrimmage with Jokers Training Drill

Setup

  • 2 teams
  • grid (30yds x 40yds)
  • cones to mark off area
  • 2 mini goals
  • pinnies
  • 15-25 min

Rules & Objectives

  • each team determines one “joker” who must touch the ball a minimum of 4 times before he gets rid of it
  • a goal scored by a joker is awarded 2 points
  • if the joker breaks the rule it is automatically a free kick for the other team
  • rotate jokers

Variations

  • jokers have a maximum of two touches
  • vary number of jokers on each team
  • adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
